Job Description:
We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Farm Assistant to help with the daily operations of a mixed fruit and vegetable farm. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working with onions, tomatoes, cabbages, mangoes, and orange (citrus) crops.
LOCATION: Kako-Waia Ward, Makueni County
START DATE: Immediately (ASAP)
SALARY: Ksh.8,000 to ksh.20,000/Monthly depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare land for planting by clearing debris, digging, and fertilizing soil.

Plant seeds and seedlings according to crop schedules.

Irrigate crops and monitor soil moisture levels.

Weed, prune, and manage pest control to maintain healthy crops.

Assist in the harvesting, sorting, and packing of farm produce.

Feed and care for farm animals, including cleaning animal shelters.

Operate and maintain farm equipment and tools safely.

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of farm facilities.

Follow safety guidelines and farm protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Report any issues or abnormalities to farm supervisors promptly.
Qualifications and Skills:

Previous experience in farm work or agriculture is preferred but not mandatory.

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.

Basic knowledge of farming techniques and machinery is an advantage.
