Job Description:

We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Farm Assistant to help with the daily operations of a mixed fruit and vegetable farm. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working with onions, tomatoes, cabbages, mangoes, and orange (citrus) crops.

LOCATION: Kako-Waia Ward, Makueni County
START DATE: Immediately (ASAP)
SALARY: Ksh.8,000 to ksh.20,000/Monthly depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare land for planting by clearing debris, digging, and fertilizing soil.

• Plant seeds and seedlings according to crop schedules.

• Irrigate crops and monitor soil moisture levels.

• Weed, prune, and manage pest control to maintain healthy crops.

• Assist in the harvesting, sorting, and packing of farm produce.

• Feed and care for farm animals, including cleaning animal shelters.

• Operate and maintain farm equipment and tools safely.

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of farm facilities.

• Follow safety guidelines and farm protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

• Report any issues or abnormalities to farm supervisors promptly.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience in farm work or agriculture is preferred but not mandatory.

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Basic knowledge of farming techniques and machinery is an advantage.

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.

Working Conditions:

• This position involves manual labor in outdoor farm environments.

• Flexible working hours depending on farm needs and seasons.

• May require lifting heavy loads and standing for extended periods.

JOB SUMMARY

Savannah Farms is looking for a creative, proactive, and tech-savvy Marketing Associate to promote the farm’s products and services. The ideal candidate must have strong social media skills and the ability to attract customers, build the brand, and increase sales through digital platforms and local market engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Social Media Marketing (MAIN ROLE)

• Manage Savannah Farms’ social media pages (Facebook, WhatsApp Business, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)

• Create and post engaging content (photos, videos, farm updates, harvests, promotions)

• Respond to customer messages and inquiries online

• Grow followers and increase customer engagement

• Promote farm products such as onions, tomatoes, mangoes, citrus, and other services

2. Sales & Customer Engagement

• Find new markets and buyers for farm produce

• Maintain communication with customers and distributors

• Share price updates, availability, and promotions

• Help coordinate deliveries and customer orders

3. Branding & Promotion

• Take photos and short videos from the farm

• Design simple posters, offers, and adverts

• Help build the Savannah Farms brand identity

• Promote the farm during market days and community events

4. Market Research

• Monitor market prices and demand trends

• Identify new sales opportunities

• Gather customer feedback to improve services

5. Reporting

• Track online inquiries and sales generated through marketing

• Provide weekly reports on marketing activities and results

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have strong social media knowledge (Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc.)

• Ability to take good photos and videos using a smartphone

• Basic knowledge of marketing or sales

• Good communication skills

• Creative and self-motivated

• Able to work independently

• Basic computer skills are an added advantage
